Travel along the entire Sunshine Coast Highway from Langdale to Earls Cove or Earls Cove to Langdale. It is a chance to meet the artists in their studios and experience the vibrant arts and culture community on the Sunshine Coast as you follow brochure maps, directional signs, smart phone maps and other Crawlers along the way. (We have a fun Art Crawl passport program to collect stickers from each venue for a chance to win BC Ferry tickets - and come back to the coast.
Venues vary from private contemporary to rustic studios hidden in the woods to group shows in one venue including 23 Powell River Artists exhibiting their work at the Roberts Creek Hall and the adjacent Masonic Hall. You can even stop by Persephone Brewing Co. and enjoy a craft beer while viewing 18 of our local artists from the Landing Gallery.
The Sunshine Coast Art Crawl this year includes 130 venues and over 300 artists. You can experience everything from glass blowing, (children sign up to design their own glass blown pumpkin at Molten Spirit Glass in Roberts Creek) to pottery, painting, spinning, chocolate making and even blacksmithing demos. You'll meet some of our woodworkers and carvers, jewellers and metalworkers. You will even have the opportunity to experience the many shishalh First Nation artists showing their work at the shishalh longhouse. The Sunshine Coast artists are as varied and welcoming as the many communities along the Sunshine Coast and there is always something for everyone.
Get friends and family together and come for the entire weekend to soak it all in and stay at one of our many B & B's and accommodators, breath in the fresh sea air, check out the fabulous restaurants and a whole lot of coastal culture.
