The Sunshine Coast Conservation Association (SCCA) proudly invites you to celebrate World Oceans Day at the third annual SECHELT OCEANS DAY!
Saturday, June 8th, 12 - 4 pm at Friendship Park - where Wharf Ave meets the Ocean
Join us for an afternoon of FREE family fun featuring ocean-themed activities and games on the downtown Sechelt waterfront. Learn about ocean ecology and conservation, and celebrate our spectacular coastal marine environment!
Pick up your Oceans Day Passport at our info booth, and gain stamps at each activity for your chance to win prizes!
Here is some of the GREAT marine fun planned for you:
12:00 pm - Opening Welcome
12:30 pm - 1:00pm - Live music by Knotty Dotters Marimba Band
1:30 pm - Beach Seine Join fisheries and Oceans Canada Community Advisor Dave Davies to use a seine net to look for young salmon who are migrating now from the rivers to the ocean!
2:00 -3:00 pm - Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup: New this year: two different locations to choose from!
